Question: If you are deep down in the sea or underearth or very high above sea level what happens to your body/brain? Because of the pressure? Why?

  1. Under the sea: breathing compressed air means you’re taking on lots of nitrogen (air is ~79% nitrogen, the pressure makes it worse) & this has a funny effect on your brain – it’s very similar to being drunk!

If you’re high above sea level and not in a pressurised environment (like a plane), you’ll have a hard time breathing because of the lack of oxygen. This will eventually cause you to pass out, but if it didn’t & you kept on getting higher, your blood would eventually boil (fluids boil at a lower temperature when under less pressure)!
