The massive meteor hitting the gulf of Mexico seems pretty convincing. This thing was scarily big — when it hit the sea, it would have still stretched 7 miles or so into the sky! And it’s coming in really, really fast. Everything within the surrounding area would have died instantly, but then there were other effects that caused problems, like the massive smoke clouds that covered the earth.
I like the comet covering the earth in a giant dust-cloud theory – but I don’t know which one is actually correct!!
