Question: Why is it, that when you have a dream the things that you feel emotions about in the dreams you sometimes feel emotions about when you awake?
There have been lots of questions similar to this.
One of the reasons why we dream is to go over the things that have happened to us during the day and our brain can sort through all this stuff and figure out what to keep (remember) and what to throw away (forget).
Sometimes our dreams can be so much like real-life, that the emotions that we are feeling in the dream carry on when we wake up. This is because your brain is still inbetween being asleep and completely awake. Usually, when you get up out of bed and start your day, those intense feelings disappear as your brain starts concentrating on eating breakfast, having a shower etc.
This is a great question and a popular one.
This is a combination of two things
1. When we dream, we think that what is happening is that you are going through things that happened in your day or that you are thinking about. Often that is emotional stuff, and those emotons are real even if the scenario is not.
2. The reason we think that the emtions are felt even when you wake is because REM sleep, (when we dream) is very light sleep and we usually wake up from them, so the emotions and the dreams seem very real.
Thank you very much for answering my question. I think that everyone is intersted in drerams becasue that is what most people do at night and they find it fascinating how dreams work.

I wonder why so many of you are so interested in dreams. Any particular reason?
