How do you know when the newest products come out? Through friends in the business?

There’s a number of different ways we find out. Certainly companies advertise to scientists (especially at scientific conferences), otherwise you might read an scientific article that involves the product, or see/hear about it through colleagues in the area.

I mainly use brain stimulation equipment. This helps us understand how the brain works, but can also be used to treat certain mental disorders. There’s a great new product that I would love to buy — it let’s us stimulate the brain with weak electrical currents while also recording brain activity. This might not sound like much, but doing these two things together is actually pretty tough!
