This is a tricky one. Most scientists haven’t really looked at it. There is some evidence that estrogen is neuroprotective (protects brain cells in bad situations) , but not all the time and we’re not sure why. Having high testosterone can cause high aggression so it must do something to the brain, but what?
As far as I know we don’t have a whole lot of information on it, sorry 🙁
Btw, I saw on your profile you don’t like writing up. It’s funny, most researchers don’t. We like doing the experiments and thinking about it, the writing is always such a struggle.
