Question: I heard that the brain has 'wrinkles' because it folds up on itself. How big would it be if 'unfolded' out?

That’s a good question!! Scientists actually use computers to ‘unfold’ the brain when they are doing brain imaging – it makes it easier to visualise – these are called ‘flat maps’.

As for the surface area – I am not sure!! I guess it varies a bit depending on the person!
