Question: With poison that gets injected into your body (such as a mosquito bite) how does your body raise it to make a that lump that is itchy?

  1. As far as I know it’s an immune system response which tries to protect you from the mosquito. I’m not an immunologist, so I don’t know exactly how this works! 🙂

  2. Immune response, just like Emma said! When your immune cells get activated, they spew out chemicals like histamine that cause swelling and itchiness. That’s why some people take anti-histamines when they have things like hayfever.
