Question: Is telepathy a possibility?

Keywords:

  1. Ok, so technically there is no scientific evidence for this….
    But….
Last week, some scientists in America announced that they had developed a way for one person to control another person in a non-invasive (i.e. without any surgery) way, so this is a form of telepathy!! Basically a professor on one side of the university campus had an electroencephalogram (EEG) helmet on that could read the electrical signals from his brain. Then, another researcher had a magnetic coil over his brain that can be used to stimulate muscles. Both were hooked up to a computer that transmitted these signals. So the EEG helmet guy imagined moving his arm and this was then transferred to the magnetic guy and his arm moved!!!
This is all super interesting and can be watched here:

  2. As Emma says,; short answer is still no.

This guy James Randi of the James Randi Educational Foundation (JREF) put up 1 million for any ‘medium’ or otherwise paranormal person to prove their ‘talents’ in a scientific setting. So far nobody has been able to come past even preliminary testing.

No scientific evidence means no in science.

  1. I mean the telepathy as in speaking to each other with our minds. I believe it could be in our brain when we are a baby and even tough the mother doesn’t know it, it is easier for her to care for the baby and know what it needs. But still, @Kristyn that is AWESOME!!!

    • Nice thinking narwhalelite! Though there is a difference between reading minds and reading emotions and facial expressions. I can guess what my baby is thinking, by the noises (SCREAMING!!) she makes and the way her face looks, but I still don’t know exactly what she is thinking. This is part of the bonding process between babies and parents and it helps children learn about facial expressions and emotions.
