Question: Hey Emma, I have been reading your profile and I would like to know is there a reason why your science lab is three floors underground? Is it there to keep secret?
All our research is top secret!!! No, unfortunately that’s just where the psychology department is at Adelaide Uni. Plus we do all our experiments in the dark, so windows would probably just be a nuisance… though, sitting for 8 hours a day underground gets a bit much sometimes – in winter it feels like I never see the sun!
A lot of Universities have their labs underground and their animals as well, it makes for relatively stable temperature, light and sound conditions. But yeah, it also makes for pretty depressed students on long days..
