Question: what is the major difference between headaches and migraines?

Keywords: ,

  1. Basically, a migraine is a very severe and painful headache.
I get them from time to time and it is horrible, I need to take some strong panadol and lie down and sleep for a good 12 hours to get rid of it (which is difficult with 2 kids running around!)
Migraines may involve inflammation and the blood vessels of your brain and can make you feel like vomiting or actually vomiting. Sometimes people with migraines even see or hear imaginary sights or sounds before the migraine comes on. When I get mine, I get very dizzy and start seeing dots and everything appears to be much brighter than it really is. Yuck.

  2. Oh poor Kristyn 🙁

As far as I know it sort of goes like this:

All migraines are headaches, but not all headaches are migraines.

Headaches can be caused by all kinds of things, migraines generally have the same cause (although we’re not exactly sure what it is, something to do with bloodvessels in the brain contracting).
