Not in my own class. I did run the school newspaper and set up the students’ committee. Kids in the years below me really liked me, kids in my own class mostly thought I was weird. Which was fair enough, because I was kind of weird. I was also good friends with most of teachers :S

I wasn’t one of the “cool kids” (can you believe it?! A scientist who isn’t cool!!), but had plenty of friends. We played a lot of basketball — it was the mid-90s and Michael Jordan was in his heyday! Have kept in touch with quite a few of them.
