Question: in ten years time what impact do you think your research will have on the world?

  1. Its hard to say, but I hope it will help people come up with better ways of treating all the specific things that happen to the brain when it is under stress, rather than relying on a “one size fits all” type approach.

  2. Hopefully it will be the basis for a lot more research, because people will be really interested in how they can relate what I’ve found to their own research.

Sometimes you have to do a lot of experiments to try to work out how something works, and each experiment builds upon the past one – I think my research is one of the first steps to finding out some really cool things about how the brain turns vision into hand movements!

  3. This is one of the best questions we’ve had so far — makes me really think about what I’m doing! I’d love to think that in 10 years my work will have been instrumental in getting a safe and effective biomedical treatment for autism out into the community, and throughout the world. That would be great, and I firmly believe that it’s a strong possibility.
