Question: I'm avery indecisive peron, it's actually kind of annoying, and with big, important decisions I'm usually (and i say usually because sometimes my head is a total mess and blah) able to make a snap judgement as to what I want but when it comes to little things for example... what I want for dinner (because I ALWAYS have trouble with this, I'm a little strange) I can never seem to actually decide what I want, which annoys my mum... a lot. So, I was wondering what exactly in my brain makes it so hard for me to make decisions? Especially when it's so insignificant.

  1. Well.. first of all ; almost everybody has trouble with decisions, ESPECIALLY trying to decide what to have for dinner. Sometimes for me, it just ends up being crisps.

Decision making is actually a very large scientific field ranging from social interaction to biophysics. Especially in biophysics there are entire mathematical models to describe the way the brain makes decisions.

For your predicaments, there are a lot of decision making tools around, but for the big decisions, some psychologists say you should let your ‘subconscious’ do the deciding. Prime yourself with the question before you go to bed, then decide in the morning.

For me, I tend to pretend I’ve already made the decision and then check how I feel. Hope this helps!
