A lot of people ask me that. The people that have heard of it mostly know it from a very old ‘Beach Boys’ song that goes: “Aruba, Jamaica.. ooh I wanna take ya, to Bermuda, Bahama..”.
Which leads people to think that it’s next to Jamaica. lol!
It’s a tiny (30×6 km) island off the coast of Venezuela (South America). It’s a Caribbean island (palm trees and coconuts and whatnot) and a former colony of the Netherlands.
My mom was born there and moved our family there when I was 8, because the weather there is way nicer than in the Netherlands.
